I do not like my options taken away from me when I've become accustomed to, and prefer, the way I was doing it. If there isn't a solution, I am afraid I'll be going back to Windows. Please, does anyone know if this will be changed back? Can you recommend a different program to replace Photos? Is there any way to change this crazy naming style Apple adopted? Is this some move by Apple to force me to buy their cloud storage? I just can't do that - I get my 10TB of storage free through work, and that's already where I back up everything. I used to just copy the latest uploads in the Masters folder to back it up to my cloud storage, but with the renamed photos, rearranged photos, and possibly missing photos, I'm at a loss as to what to do. The folder is not named according to upload date, either, as with previous versions. The photos are now named with some overly long string of characters that don't make sense to me. I found the "originals" folder, which appears to hold my more recent photos. It only went through October 2018, and there were missing folders from those years inside, too. When I went to my Photos Library, and asked it to "Show Package Contents" the new Photos had been restructured. ![]() ![]() I use a service other than Apple to back up all of our photos, videos, and documents. what can I do? Is there another program that I can get to replace Photos? I updated my iMac to the latest OS. Photos App after Catalina: masters folder is gone, photos missing, new photos named poorly. ![]()
